We grow dozens of different veggies, starting out with lettuces, radishes, leafy greens and culinary herbs. As the weather warms, the variety and volume increases. Peas, Swiss chard, broccoli, kale, carrots, cabbages, tomatoes, eggplant, cucumbers, potatoes, garlic, sweet and hot peppers, as well as summer & winter squashes are added as they ripen.
Whatever is ripe that week goes into the box. We shoot for 8 to 10 different items per week, increasing as the season progresses. Since our veggies are freshly picked at their peak, there is a noticeable difference in quality and freshness over retail produce.
Although we begin planting seeds in the greenhouse in winter, the actual CSA harvest usually starts in June, exact date depending upon weather, and goes for about 20 weeks.
Members pick up here at the farm, which is located about 2 miles north of Padden Parkway, just west of 72nd Avenue.
We offer half and full shares, and often include recipes with our weekly newsletter.
